A little bit about me: I’m originally from Michigan, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in
Kinesiology and Exercise Science. I’m also a NASM-certified personal trainer. I’ve been in the
fitness industry for about seven years, working in various roles, and I’ve been coaching for five
of those years.
My ultimate goal is to help you unleash your potential and have fun doing it—while listening to
some killer tunes, of course. Gotta have something to headbang to while working out!
With over 3,000 group fitness classes under my belt, I’m confident I can support you in your
fitness journey—whatever that may look like. I can’t wait to see you in class!
And remember: the small wins matter just as much as the big ones. So cheer on your neighbors
and spread good vibes!
Top 5 Questions Sydney Is Asked
#1 - Why is total body strength important?
Total body strength is important because it creates a balanced, capable, and resilient body that
performs well in everyday life and in workouts. When all major muscle groups are strong, you
move more efficiently, maintain better posture, and reduce your risk of injury. Full-body strength
also supports joint stability, improves metabolism by building more lean muscle, and boosts
overall athletic performance. It helps you handle daily tasks with ease and contributes to
long-term health, mobility, and confidence.
#2 - What is total body strength training?
Total body strength training is a workout approach that targets all major muscle groups in a
single session, upper body, lower body, and core. It typically uses compound exercises like
squats, deadlifts, push-ups, rows, and presses to build strength efficiently. This style of training
helps improve overall muscle balance, coordination, and functional movement. Because it works
multiple areas at once, it’s time-effective, boosts metabolism, and supports better performance
in both everyday activities and athletic training.
#3 - What is a total body strength workout?
A total body strength workout is a training session that targets your upper body, lower body, and
core within the same routine. It includes compound movements like squats, deadlifts, lunges,
push-ups, rows, and overhead presses, which work multiple muscles at once. This type of
workout builds balanced strength, improves functional movement, and increases overall power
and stability. It’s efficient, boosts metabolism, and helps you develop a strong, well-rounded
body for daily activities and athletic performance.
#4 - What exercise is considered a total body strength exercise?
A deadlift is one of the best total body strength exercises because it engages nearly every major
muscle group at once. Your legs, glutes, back, core, and grip all work together to lift the weight
from the ground, making it a true full-body movement. Deadlifts build strength, power, and
stability while improving posture and functional movement. They also translate directly to
real-life activities like lifting, carrying, and bending, making them highly effective for overall
strength development.
#5 - Is total body strength training once a week enough?
Training total body strength once a week is enough for beginners or anyone focused on
maintaining general fitness, but it may not be ideal for building significant strength or muscle. A
single weekly session can still improve mobility, stability, and overall function—especially if it
includes compound exercises like squats, deadlifts, rows, and presses. However, most people see better results with 2–3 full-body sessions per week. Consistency, recovery, and progressive overload ultimately determine how effectively you improve.
