From the age of 5, being an athlete was always a part of my life. I grew up playing soccer, helped to found the first girls only soccer team in my high school’s history and went on to play in college. It was in college that I realized I wanted to do more than just train to play soccer. During college, I was an accelerated academic scholarship student where I earned a dual bachelors degrees in biology and psychology. After undergrad, I went on to pursue my physical therapy goals and attended Penn State’s PTA program. During my entire college career, I worked in a variety of physical therapy settings. After college, I became a traveling therapist all over the east coast. It was then that I pursued my goal to become a fitness professional. At 25, I became a group fitness instructor. This ignited my passion for inspiring & empowering others to better themselves really developed. What I noticed was that something was missing. Fitness wasn’t just about physical results, there was so much more to it than workouts & macros. That’s where I pursued my NASM CPT and launched my own online health and fitness business focused on mind, body, soul transformations called GinaMarieFit, LLC where I helped hundreds of women all over the country. Three years ago, I moved back to Florida & made Tampa my new home. It was here that I expanded my personal training business, launched my health and wellness podcast The Unfiltered Trainer and created a charity organization called Sweating Together For A Cause to meet people at all levels of their journey. Also, I became a group fitness instructor for F45. During my time at F45, I was promoted to head coach and made my mission to create an inclusive, welcoming community. Last year, I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge and find a role that I could make more of an impact in the community. That’s when I earned my position with BFT. Being a part of the founding Tampa team has been such a blessing. It’s enabled me to resign from my healthcare job & fully pursue working full time as a personal trainer. My mission for BFT Tampa is to create an environment where members look forward to coming. Instead of feeling like “I have to workout” you feel inspired, empowered and say “I’m excited to workout.” BFT Tampa truly will be the place that cares about the individual as a whole and will support our members in all aspects of their journey. I’m grateful to be your Head Coach and ready to make an impact.
